Nowadays most device firmware has security leaks that cannot prevent data theft even if they are encrypted.<\/p>

This is the statement that multiple security companies have indicated which puts multiple computers at risk to new information theft attacks by a new method called \"data theft\". Cold Boot, <\/em><\/strong>which allows the theft of information from your hard drive when the computer is turned off.
<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

Some of the computers we use overwrite the memory at the start of the shutdown process to prevent this type of information theft, although this type of attack found the vulnerability in the firmware which can disable this erasure and allow the Cold Boot attack.<\/p>

A cold boot attack is a type of side channel attack in which the attacker with physical access to a computer is able to retrieve the encryption keys during operating system execution, after performing the cold boot to reboot the machine.<\/p><\/blockquote>

In several cases tests were carried out on equipment with data encryption tools, multiple tools were unsuccessful in attempting to prevent this type of attack, and the data theft leak was successful.<\/p>

This demonstrates that all types of hard disk are possible to be extracted with the Cold Boot type of attack.<\/p>

After several tests indicate multiple companies such as Microsoft, Apple and Intel only few devices are immune to this security flaw.<\/p>

Taking into account that this security leak is done in person on a computer, they recommend using pin or secure passwords to protect your data.<\/p>
