The web celebrates its 30th anniversary

It was 30 years ago today that Tim Berners-Lee presented his first proposal for sharing information on the Internet where the idea of WWW meaning "World Wide Web"A protocol that makes use of the Internet for the transmission of data, in this case, web pages.

History of the World Wide Web

Tim Berners-Lee is considered the father of the web as he developed the HTTP, HTML and URL protocols. The need to exchange information led him to invent one after another. On March 12, 1989, engineer Tim Berners-Lee presented the proposal for what he called the World Wide Web, a system for sharing information between computers. He had been working for CERN, the European organization for nuclear research, for some time. Although he was a physicist, he wanted to work in telecommunications and computer science, at which point he began to work more on the Web. Tim Berners said that "the Internet is computers connected together, wires and physical media, whereas the web is much more abstract, where the connections are hyperlinks."
